Plot

American-born Chinese NYU professor, Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his hometown, Singapore, to attend his best friend's wedding. Before long, astonished to discover, she learns that not only that Nick comes from one of the country?s wealthiest families but also one of the most sought-after bachelors. Thrust into the spotlight and drown under by jealous socialities, Nick's disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) is far worse of all hatered.
